Your legs will be in good shape, but start doing lots of pushups (200+ a day) and pull ups/ chin ups. You’ll do lots of marching in boot camp, but you’ll be carrying lots of extra weight—canteen, helmet, weapon, and possibly more. So, you should start doing your runs with a backpack filled with 10–15 pounds. Your legs will get stronger and your shoulders/back used to carry weight. At some point in training, you’ll be carrying heavy packs (70#s +) and marching long distances—over 10 miles.
